Scoliosis

Address Scoliosis with Corrective Chiropractic

Scoliosis is a structural problem in the spine, defined as a sideways curvature of the spine. It’s basically a fancy word for an abnormal curvature in the spine. Often, the curves appear S-shaped or C-shaped. In most cases, the cause is unknown. It can start from the time you’re born, or develop throughout the course of your life. One thing we do know—it gets worse over time if the curvature is not corrected. It’s like hammering a bent nail; it tends to get worse as you live your life.

Chiropractic Care for Scoliosis

Often times, people who have scoliosis will not have any pain even if their condition is severe. However, even though it doesn’t cause pain, it can greatly affect the natural functions of the body. Having a large curve in the spine affects the way the entire body moves and communicates. It can be dangerous to wait until the scoliosis is causing symptoms because it is typically advanced when the symptoms begin.

“I’ve heard you can’t fix scoliosis—can you?!”

At Align Health & Wellness, we are a corrective chiropractic clinic that specializes in the correction of scoliosis. We have hundreds of before-and-after x-rays to prove the correction in practice members at Align. Some doctors may tell you that it is “impossible” to correct scoliosis, but their specialty is most likely NOT in correcting this condition. Again – we have hundreds of before and after X-rays to prove changes, and many of these people have completely reversed their spinal curves.

It is not an overnight process and often depends on the commitment level of the practice member – but it is absolutely correctable when using the protocol implemented by our Align chiropractors. If you’re interested in learning more, please feel free to send us a message or call to speak with one of our doctors about how we handle scoliosis.

*There is a genetic component to scoliosis. If you know that you have it, it is always a good idea to get your kids checked early on because it’s much easier to correct in a child than an adult.
