Tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis, is a condition in which a muscle tendon (extensor carpi radialis brevis) pulls away from the bone on the outside of the elbow. Lateral epicondylitis is typically caused by repetitive extension of the wrist such as a one-handed backhand in tennis.

People suffering from tennis elbow will typically experience pain with wrist extension and will have palpable tenderness over the lateral epicondyle which is on the outside of the elbow.

  1. Making sure that the body is properly healing the area at the elbow. Tennis elbow can commonly be a precipitation of a problem at the neck. The neck is where the bundles form that carry nerves, red blood cells and other healing components to the elbow.
  2. Performing soft tissue techniques such as Graston Technique to speed up the healing process.
  3. Educating on proper exercises to do to support FULL HEALING of the lateral epicondylitis.
  4. Educating on what to avoid so as not to aggravate the condition and slow down the healing process.
  5. Bracing when necessary
