Our Approach to Tinnitus
Tinnitus is described as ringing / sound in the ears or perception of ringing / sound in the ears. On mayoclinic.org it says that “Tinnitus isn’t a condition itself — it’s a symptom of an underlying condition”.
The key is determining what is the underlying condition. While ‘ringing in the ears’ is not well understood, the primary cause seems to be a vascular or neurological issue.
As corrective chiropractors at Align, we look to the nervous system. We know that the brain is responsible for the health of the ears and how well they regulate and heal. The brain controls this through the nerves in our body. We look for interference within that nervous system to determine if that may be causing the symptoms.
